CreditLadder is the largest rent reporting service in the UK with over £1bn reported in rent payments to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. We were the first to offer this kind of service in the UK and also the first to report to all three of the main Credit Reference Agencies (CRAs) in the UK, namely Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. We believe good tenants who pay their rent on time should be rewarded for doing so.
But we're occasionally asked if we're 'safe' and 'legitimate' and we understand why. People may not have heard of us before visiting our website, so how do they know who we are?
All we can say for sure is that we are safe, good and genuine, and here’s why.
CreditLadder is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
We are registered with, and regulated by the FCA which means if there is a dispute between you and us, the FCA’s Ombudsman Service will mediate. We also report regularly to the FCA. If we were to step out of line, the regulator would intervene and could fine us. CreditLadder works with the FCA to ensure we follow best practice and provide a safe and secure platform for our users. See our page on the FCA website.
We’re backed by HM Treasury
CreditLadder were the biggest winner of the Rent Recognition Challenge - a competition run by the UK government designed to encourage innovative start-ups. We were awarded £600,000 which we used using to fund the development of our site, products and team. But don’t take our word for it - read this blog on the.GOV website.
Our award-winning service has been written about on Money Saving Expert and Which?
When we first started, CreditLadder was included in a guide to ‘boosting your credit score’ published on the MoneySavingExpert website. Read the full article here. Consumer organisation Which? have also featured us more than once, including one of its guides to getting on the property ladder.
The BBC, The Times and others have also all written about us.
The BBC has reported on our service and given it the thumbs up, while we’ve also been written about positively on the websites of The Mirror, The Times, The Sun and Metro.
We have five stars on Trustpilot
CreditLadder is built on brilliant customer service, and this is reflected in our ‘excellent’ status on Trustpilot. Nearly 2,000 people have rated us so far and we currently have a five-star rating from those who have used our service.
Only CreditLadder reports to all the main CRAs in the UK
CreditLadder works with all three of the UK’s CRAs - Experian, Equifax, TransUnion and Crediva. On the Experian site you can find out more by going to this page and scroll down to the heading ‘How can I build up my credit history?’.
We have a real office in London, and you can contact us during business hours.
CreditLadder does not hide behind contact forms (although we do use them to check if you qualify for rent reporting) and instead we are transparent about our address which is CreditLadder, IDEALondon, 69 Wilson St, London EC2A 2BB where you can contact us. If you want to see who else works here, read about our team here.
